Christ Church closed out the first half of the season losing two games to one to host Harvey Browne on December 12th.
In Game One, Harvey Brown led all the way after scoring two runs in the bottom of the first on a double and home run. They added four runs in the sixth inning on a homer and four doubles. Christ Church scored single runs in the third when Terry Waddle tripled and Mike Peak singled and in the eighth on a Frank Preston Home run. The final score was 6-2.
In Game Two, again, Harvey Brown never trailed after opening up the bottom of the first with three home runs on three darts. Mike Thompson cut the lead to 3-1 with a second inning home run but in the bottom of the inning, Harvey Browne homered twice to make the margin four. A run on a Mike Peak single and David Stierle triple in the sixth was immediately answered with two more runs by Harvey Browne for a 7-2 lead. Mike Thompson and Bob Stone both homered to cut the lead to 7-5 and Mike Peak (single) and Charles Smith (triple) combined to trim the deficit to two. But a Bob Stone double in the ninth was wasted and game two ended 7-5.
In Game Three, Christ Church took their first lead of the night on Mike Thompson's first inning RBI double. After it was tied at 1-1 in the third, Mike Thompson and Clete Thompson homered in the fourth with Clete's home run driving in Charlie Smith for a 4-1 score. That was the end of the scoring for Christ Church. But Harvey Browne could only muster a pair of home runs in the sixth and the final score in the victory for Christ Church was 4-3.
For the night, both teams had 22 hits but Harvey Browne's included 9 doubles, 1 triple and 10 home runs resulting in 16 runs to Christ Church's 11.
