CHRIST CHURCH DROPS TWO SERIES IN A ROW FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON

Christ Church salvaged a Game Three win Monday night at St. Matthews Baptist but still dropped the nights series two games to one.

St, Matthews never trailed in Game One.  Betty's second inning home run opened the scoring.  Leah Bennett had led off the game with a one dart single but died at first.  Leah homered with two out in the second to tie the game.  Bob Stone followed with a single but was left on base.  In the bottom of the inning, St. Matthews used an error from Kelly and home runs by Derald and Bill to score three.  After Tom Bennett was stranded after a single in the fifth,  Bob singled in the sixth and scored on a triple (RBI) by Mike Peak to trim a run off the lead.  Bill's home run in the bottom of the sixth restored the three run lead.  It became a one run ball game in the seventh.  Tom homered, Maddie King reached on an error and Leah drove her home with an RBI triple.  But a HR by Keene built the lead to two and a single by David Stierle and a sacrifice by Dick Lutz in the eighth and a single by Leah in the ninth failed to produce a run.  The Final - St. Matthews Baptist 6 - Christ Church 4.

Christ Church took their fist lead of the night in the fourth inning of Game Two sfter wating a to out triple by Dick in the first, a two out single by Tom in the second and a lead off single by Maddie in the third.  In the fourth with two outs, Mike Thompson singled with two outs and scored on a triple (RBI) by Tom.  But that proved to be the only run Christ Church could push across.  Leah (in the fifth) and Andy Coates (in the sixth) added singles.  St. Matthews matched Christ Church's fourth inning run on back to back two out doubles by Kelly and Derald  and got the game winner in the sixth on a home run by Barry.  The Final - St. Matthews Baptist 2 - Christ Church 1.

 A three home run attack led Christ Church to victory in Game Three.  Christ Church started the scoring in the top of the second on a lead off single by Andy and a two out triple (RBI) by Tom.  Keene's third inning homer tied the game.  After David died at first after a lead off single in the fourth, Maddie's home run put Christ Church in front to stay.  Andy made it 2-1 with a home run in the sixth.  Leah singled in the eighth and was driven in by a triple (RBI) from Mike P.  Tom closed out the scoring in the ninth with a homer and Mark Nethary added a non-run scoring error.  The Final - Christ Church 5 - St. Matthews Baptist 1.
