Christ Church Salvages One Game
St. Matthews Baptist Church won two of three from Christ Church Monday night at St. Matthews.
Christ Church lost Game One by forfeit with only six players. Mike Thompson had a pair of home runs in the game unofficially played out. The Final St. Matthews Baptist - WIN by forfeit.
In Game Two, Jennifer Peak responded to an urgent call to permit Christ Church to finish the night with seven players and two Bozos. Mike T. homered in the second to give Christ Church a 1-0 lead. Bob Stone homered in the fourth, sixth, AND ninth innings to offset a fifth inning home run by Kelly. Mike Peak and David Stierle added singles. The Final- Christ Church 4 - St. Matthews Baptist 1.
Christ Church took an early first inning lead on a home run by Bob (his fourth straight). St. Matthews Baptist had second inning home runs by Betty and Homer to lead 2-1 and stretched the lead to 3-1 on Betty's second home run. Mike T. cut the lead in half in the eight with a home run but that was all the scoring Christ Church could manage. David added a single. The Final- St. Matthews Baptist 3 - Christ Church 2.

Christ Church Wins Series
After dropping Game One 11-0, Christ Church came back to take Games Two and Three to win the series against Immanuel UCC Monday night in Room 005,
Christ Church could manage only five hits in game one (Mike Peak - single in the first; Jerry Hinton - singles in the second and seventh; Bob Stone - double in the second; and Leah Bennett - triple in the third) while Immanuel scored single runs in the first (a home run by Bob), third (HR by Buzz), fourth (HR by Nancy), fifth (doubles by Adam and Buzz), and added three in the sixth (doubles by Bob and John and a HR by Nancy) and four in the ninth (triple by Bob; single by Buzz; triple by Frank; and doubles by Bob and John), The Final - Immanuel 11 - Christ Church 0.

Fast Start Slow Finish Cost Christ Church
Christ Church dropped the final series of the year against Portland Monday night in Room 005.
In Game One, Christ Church started fast. Mike Peak led off with a single and scored on a triple by Paul Hirsbrunner. Jerry Hinton drove him in with a single. Mike Thompson kept things going with an RBI triple and was followed by an RBI single by Dick Lutz to make the score 4-0 after one inning. Portland answered with one in the fourth (Diana homered), In the sixth, Jerry singled and David Stierle tripled to reestablish a four run lead. Portland tried to come back with a two run home run by Mike after Ron had singled in the seventh and a run in the eighth on doubles by Brittany and Diana. The Final- Christ Church 5 - Portland 4.
In Game Two, Christ Church wasted a lead off single by David in the second and a two out triple by Mike P. in the third before breaking through with a pair of runs in the fifth. Jan Waddle led off with a single and was followed two outs later when Frank Preston reached with an error. Both scored on a triple by Mike P. In the sixth, David singled and Mike T. tripled to make the score 3-0. Portland took the lead in the seventh as Ron singled; Dave tripled; Barb reached with an error; and Mike homered. Portland led after six and a half, 4-3. Charles Smith tied the game with a home run but Mike P. was stranded at first after a one out single, and Mike's ninth inning homer gave Portalan the win. But that was to prove to be Christ Church's last hits as the final twenty-five batters failed to reach base, and Portland managed to eke out a run on a double (by Jimmy) and a triple by Larry. The Final- Portland 2 - Christ Church 1.
