Christ Church Wins Series

After dropping Game One 11-0, Christ Church came back to take Games Two and Three to win the series against Immanuel UCC Monday night in Room 005,

Christ Church could manage only five hits in game one (Mike Peak - single in the first; Jerry Hinton - singles in the second and seventh;  Bob Stone - double in the second; and  Leah Bennett - triple in the third) while Immanuel scored single runs in the first (a home run by Bob), third (HR by Buzz), fourth (HR by Nancy), fifth (doubles by Adam and Buzz), and added three in the sixth (doubles by Bob and John and a HR by Nancy) and four in the ninth (triple by Bob; single by Buzz; triple by Frank; and doubles by Bob and John),  The Final - Immanuel 11 - Christ Church 0.


Immanuel took a three run lead in the first inning of Game Two on a lead off HR by Buzz and on a double (John), triple (Frank), and double (Nancy).  Christ Church made it 3-1 in the first on a single by Mike P. and a triple by Leah, 3-2 in the third on a triple by Mike P. and a single by Leah, and tied it in the fourth on a single by David Stierle and a triple by Bob Stone,  Frank Preston's seventh inning home run game Christ Church their first lead of the night and added a pair of runs in the eighth on a single by Jerry, and doubles by Dick Lutz and Bob.  Christ Church got non-scoring singles from Mike P. and David,  The Final Christ Church 6 - Immanuel 3,



Christ Church responded to Immanuel's  first inning run in Game Three (doubles by John and Adam) with a Mike Thompson homerun.  In the second Charles Smith singled and scored on Mike P.'s triple.  Leah's single drove in Mike for a 3-1 lead.  Christ Church added a run on a double by Mike T. and a triple by David.  Frank reached on an error in the fifth, David had a single in the fourth and Jerry added an eighth inning double.  The Final- Christ Church 4 - Immanuel 2.
