LEAGUE RESULTS - WEEK THREE
CHRIST CHURCH DROPS SERIES
Christ
Church scored only two runs in Game One but still picked up the win
Monday night at Immanuel U.C.C. Christ
Church took the lead in the second inning when Mike
Thompson led
off the inning with a triple and scored on a single (RBI) by David
Stierle. A home run by
Larry tied the game for Immanuel in the bottom of the inning.
Andy Coates (RBI) homered
to lead off the sixth to close the scoring. David
had
a single in the fifth and one in the seventh which failed to produce
rubs. The
Final– Christ Church 2 – Immanuel 1.
Christ
Church took a first inning lead in Game Two.
Mike Peak led
off the game with a single and scored on a triple (RBI) by Jerry
Hinton. That
lead held up only until the bottom of the frtst when back to back
home runs by Jim and Zach put Immanuel up by one. The lead became
two on Tanner's fifth inning home run. Sydney
Raderer cut
the lead in half with a lead off home run (RBI) in the sixth. But
single runs in the sixth (a triple by Jack and a double by Jared) and
the seventh (doubles by Alan and Jim) increased the lead to three.
In the
eighth a two out single by Mike
P and
a triple (RBI) by David
produced
Christ
Church's final run. David
had a walk in the loss.
The Final- Immanuel 5 –
Christ Church 3.
After only
five hits in each of the first two games, Christ Church managed nine
hits in Game Three but six of them came after Christ Church had
fallen behind 8-2. Immanuel scored in the first to take the lead on
a lead off HR by Jim. David's second inning single
was followed by a triple by Bob Stone
(RBI) to tie the game at one. Immanuel score two runs in the
third (triple, double, double- Zack, Jared, John), fourth (double,
double, triple – Brandy, Jim, Zach) and fifth (double, HR- Alan,
Bob) and one run in the seventh (HR- Alan) for their game total of
eight. Bob homered
in the fifth and Andy homered
in the eighth to make the deficit five with two outs in the eighth. Mike
P (eighth) and Jerry,
Mike T. and Bob
(ninth)
singled but the tying run vever reached the plate.

CHRIST CHURCH HOSTS TRINITY
Christ Church played host to league
new-comers Trinity Presbyterian Monday night in Room 005.
In Game One,
neither team registered a hit until the bottom
of the fourth inning- a one out single by Jerry
Hinton. Trinity scored the
first run of the game in the sixth on a solo home.
But Christ Church answered immediately with a five hit four run
bottom of the sixth. Kay Peak tied
the game with a one out home run (RBI) and was followed by a single
by Mike Peak, a
triple by Jerry (RBI),
a single by David Stierle
(RBI)
and a triple by Mike Thompson.
The
Final – Christ Church 4 – Trinity 1.
In Game Two,
Christ Church managed only four hits, an error and one run Bob
Stone and Jerry recorded singles (in the first and ninth
respectively) and Billy Kinman doubled in the seventh with
none resulting in runs. Christ Church's run came in the fourth after
a pair of home runs gave Trinity a 2-0 lead. Bob reached
on an error and Billy drove him in with a triple (RBI).
Trinity added an insurance run on a home run in
their half of the ninth.
The
Final – Trinity 3 – Christ Church 1.
Game
Three was another 3-1 affair with Christ Church prevailing. Trinity
took the lead with a solo home run in the second. Christ
Church resonded in the third as Todd Raderer, Mike P (RBI) and
Jerry (RBI) went single, triple single to put Christ Church up
2-1. Mike T's seventh inning HR (RBI) closed the scoring.
Jerry and Bob contributed singkes with did not figure
into the scoring. The
Final – Christ Church 3 – Trinity 1.

CHRIST CHURCH OPENS SEASON WITH SERIES WIN
Christ Church opened the 2016-2017 season with a 2-1 series win at Portland Monday night.
Mike Thompson's two out solo home (RBI) gave Christ Church a first inning lead in Game One which held up until the fifth inning. David Stierle and Tom Bennett had two out triples in the second and fourth innings respectively.
Mike Wendell tied the game with a home run in the fifth.
Leah Bennett had a single in the sixth but was left on base. Christ Church regained the lead in the seventh on a double by Bob Stone and a triple by David (RBI). In the eighth Mike Peak led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice by Leah but again Christ Church failed to push a run across. Christ Church added a run in the ninth. Tom singled and was driven in on a triple by David (RBI). The Final - Christ Church 3 - Portland 1.
