CHRIST CHURCH DROPS SERIES

Christ Church scored only two runs in Game One but still picked up the win Monday night at Immanuel U.C.C. Christ Church took the lead in the second inning when Mike Thompson led off the inning with a triple and scored on a single (RBI) by David Stierle. A home run by Larry tied the game for Immanuel in the bottom of the inning. Andy Coates (RBI) homered to lead off the sixth to close the scoring. David had a single in the fifth and one in the seventh which failed to produce rubs. The Final– Christ Church 2 – Immanuel 1.

Christ Church took a first inning lead in Game Two. Mike Peak led off the game with a single and scored on a triple (RBI) by Jerry Hinton. That lead held up only until the bottom of the frtst when back to back home runs by Jim and Zach put Immanuel up by one. The lead became two on Tanner's fifth inning home run. Sydney Raderer cut the lead in half with a lead off home run (RBI) in the sixth. But single runs in the sixth (a triple by Jack and a double by Jared) and the seventh (doubles by Alan and Jim) increased the lead to three. In the eighth a two out single by Mike P and a triple (RBI) by David produced Christ Church's final run. David had a walk in the loss. The Final- Immanuel 5 – Christ Church 3.

After only five hits in each of the first two games, Christ Church managed nine hits in Game Three but six of them came after Christ Church had fallen behind 8-2. Immanuel scored in the first to take the lead on a lead off HR by Jim. David's second inning single was followed by a triple by Bob Stone (RBI) to tie the game at one. Immanuel score two runs in the third (triple, double, double- Zack, Jared, John), fourth (double, double, triple – Brandy, Jim, Zach) and fifth (double, HR- Alan, Bob) and one run in the seventh (HR- Alan) for their game total of eight. Bob homered in the fifth and Andy homered in the eighth to make the deficit five with two outs in the eighth. Mike P (eighth) and Jerry, Mike T. and Bob (ninth) singled but the tying run vever reached the plate. The Final- Immanuel 8 – Christ Church 3.
