CHRIST CHURCH TAKES SERIES FROM IMMANUEL

Christ Church evened the season's series with Immanuel by winning two out of three at Christ Church Monday night.  Immanuel had beaten Christ Church two to one in September.

Immanuel scored two in the top of the first while never trailing in Game One.  A two run home run by Jared scored David from first..  Through six innings, Christ Church could manage only one hit an inning: a single in the second (by Dick Lutz); a double in the third (by Sydney Raderer); and a single in the fourth (again by Dick).  In the seventh, Dick singled for the third straight time, moved to second on a sacrifice by David Stierle, and scored on an RBI double by Vince Richards.  Immanuel added the only other scoring of the game on a triple by John and an RBI sacrifice by Alan in the eighth.  The Final - Immanuel 3 - Christ Church 1.

 Immanuel also took the lead first in Game Two on doubles by Bob and Jared.  Through five innings this time, Christ Church again scattered their hits: a single in the first (by Mike Thompson); a single in the second (by David); a double in the third (by Frank Preston); and a double in the fourth (by Bob Stone).  In the sixth with two outs, Andy Coates tripled and David followed with an RBI single to tie the game.  In the eighth, Dick led off with a single but died at first.  In the bottom of the ninth, after Immanuel had failed to score in the top of the inning, David led off with a home run for Christ Church's first lead of the night.  The Final - Christ Church 2 - Immanuel 1.

Immanuel scored first again in Game Three.  A triple by Zach and a double by Larry put Immanuel up 1-0.  Singles by Dick to lead off the first and by David to lead off the second were wasted.  In the sixth, however, after two outs, Jerry Hinton got on with a single; Mike T. followed with a triple (RBI); Andy then singled (RBI); David tripled (RBI); and Bob closed out the four run inning with a single (RBI) to give Christ Church a 4-1 lead.  Immanuel tied the game with three runs of their own in the seventh- a double by Brandy; a HR by Bob; and a HR by Jared.  Vince Richards responded to give Christ Church the lead back in the bottom of the inning with a home run (RBI) and Christ Church added an insurance run in the eight on a triple by David and a single (RBI) by Bob.  The Final - Christ Church 6 - Immanuel 4.
