WEEK THREE RESULTS
CHRST CHURCH SQUEAKS OUT SERIES WIN
Immanuel U.C.C. out-hit Christ Church 11 hits to 4 in Game One and 11 hits to 6 in Game Two and Christ Church could manage to score only a single run in each game Monday night in Room 005.
In Game One, a second inning home run by Brandy put Immanuel up 1-0. Christ Church tied the game in the fifth inning as Leah Bennett singled and Tom Bennett tripled (RBI). Christ Church's other hits were a fourth inning single by Mike Peak and a seventh inning single by Leah.. Immanuel added runs in the sixth (one on a single by Buzz and a triple by Alan); seventh (two on a double by Adam, a triple by Larry and a single by Buzz); eighth (one on a home run by Alan); and ninth (one on a triple by Larry and a single by Buzz). The Final - Immanuel 6 - Christ Church 1.
The only score in Game Two came in the bottom of the fourth. Mike Thompson led off with a double and, one out later David Stierle doubled (RBI). Dick Lutz added a two out double in the first; David a single in the second; Jerry a single in the third; and Leah a single in the eighth. Immanuel meanwhile stranded runners on first and second in the first; on second in the third; on first and second in the third; on second in the fifth; on second in the sixth; on first and third in the eighth; and on second in the ninth. The Final - Christ Church 1 - Immanuel 0.
Christ Church took the lead in the first inning and never trailed in Game Three. Mike P singled with one out and scored on a two out triple by Mike T (RBI). A third inning lead off single by Bob Stone and a triple (RBI) by Mike P put Christ Church up by a pair of runs. Adam homered in the fourth to cut the lead in half but the lead was restored in the sixth as Mike T homered. Jared's HR again made the lead one in the eighth but Christ Church immediately answered in the bottom of the inning. Mike P singled to start the inning. With two outs, Mike T tripled (RBI) and David singled (RBI) to make the margin three. Tom and Andy Coates added singles for Christ Church. The Final - Christ Church 5 - Immanuel 2.

CHRIST CHURCH WINS SERIES
After a slow start in Game One, Christ Church came back in Games Two and Three to take the series win Monday night at Trinity Presbyterian.
Christ Church failed to capitalize on a lead-off single by Mike Peak in the top of the first and on a one out double by Vince Richards in the second. A two run home run by Josh with Andrew on first and a solo home run by Larry in the third gave Trinity a three run lead. Mike Thompson's fourth inning single failed to produce a run and his hit turned out to be the last for Christ Church. Trinity added insurance runs in the sixth (doubles by Doug and Don) and seventh (another HR by Larry) to take Game One. The Final - Trinity 5 - Christ Church 0.

CHRIST CHURCH DROPS OPENING SERIES TO PORTLAND
Christ Church opened the 2017-2018 season with a series loss to Portland Presbyterian Monday night at Christ Church.
Portland led all the way in GAME ONE after homering three times in the first inning (David, Jimmie and Mike).
Christ Church did not manage a hit until Maddie King led off the sixth inning with a single. A two out triple (RBI) by Jerry Hinton and single (RBI) by Dick Lutz cut the lead to one. In the seventh inning, Andy Coates doubled to start the inning but the hit to score him was not forthcoming. That turned out to be Christ Church's last hit of the game as they fell in Game One. The Final - Portland 3 - Christ Church 2.
As in Game One, Christ Church could push only two runs accross in GAME TWO.
Mike's second home run of the night gave Portland a 1-0 lead in the second.
Mark Nethary reached on an error with one out in the third but died on base as did David Stierle after a one out fourth inning single. Mike Peak led off the sixth with a single. As they did in Game One, Jerry and Dick followed with a triple (RBI) and a single (RBI), respectively, to score two with a runner on first with no outs. But Dick was left on and Vince Richards was stranded also after drawing a walk in the seventh. But two was enough for the win as Portland had to settle for their one run. The Final - Christ Church 2 - Portland 1.
