CHRIST CHURCH WINS SERIES

After a slow start in Game One, Christ Church came back in Games Two and Three to take the series win Monday night at Trinity Presbyterian.

Christ Church failed to capitalize on a lead-off single by Mike Peak in the top of the first and on a one out double by Vince Richards in the second.  A two run home run by Josh with Andrew on first and a solo home run by Larry in the third gave Trinity a three run lead.  Mike Thompson's fourth inning single failed to produce a run and his hit turned out to be the last for Christ Church.  Trinity added insurance runs in the sixth (doubles by Doug and Don) and seventh (another HR by Larry) to take Game One.  The Final - Trinity 5 - Christ Church 0.

Trinity also took the lead in Game Two with a two run first inning.  Mary singled and was followed by doubles from Kyle and Irv.  Dick Lutz singled in the first but died on base.  Christ Church scored for the first time on the night on a home run by Vince in the second.  Andy Coates doubled in the fourth but was stranded.  In the fifth with one out, David Stierle, Maddie King (RBI) and Mike P (RBI) went single - triple - single to give Christ Church a 3-1 lead.  An out later Dick tripled (RBI) to close out the scoring.  Dick (a sixth inning single) and David (a seventh inning single and a ninth inning triple) added to Christ Church's ten hit total.  The Final - Christ Church 4 - Trinity 2.  



Christ Church struck first in Game Three as Mike P singled, Dick tripled (RBI) and Andy singled (RBI) for an early 2-0 lead.  In the second David tripled and was driven in by a Mike P single (RBI).  Jerry Hinton followed with a two out 2 RBI home run.  The score remained the same until the sixth inning.  Bob Stone led off with a single.  Two outs later, Mike P tripled (RBI) and Jerry homered again (2 RBI) for Christ Church's eighth and last runs of the game.  Dick added a ninth inning double.  Trinity got on the board on a triple by Irv and a double by Doris and added a run on a ninth inning home run by Joe.  The Final - Christ Church 4 - Trinity 2.
