CHRIST CHURCH TAKES SERIES

Christ Church won games one and three at Immanuel on Monday night.

Mike Peak got things started in Game One with a lead-off single and scored on a triple (RBI) from Mike Thompson.  A fourth inning home run by Tom Bennett stretched the lead to two and the lead became four in the seventh- Dick Lutz singled; Sydney Raderer tripled (RBI); and Mike Peak closed out the scoring with a single (RBI).  Immanuel battled back cutting the lead to three in the bottom of the seventh with a run off a pair of doubles from Buzz and Jared and cut it to one in the eighth on home runs by Frank and Brandy.  But the comeback ended in the ninth when a  two out double died at second.  Mike P (singles in the third and seventh); Sydney (double in the seventh); Mike T single in the sixth); Tom (single in the eighth); and Andy Coates (sacrifice in the eighth); contributed but produced no runs.  The Final - Christ Church 4 - Immanuel 3.

In Game Two Christ Church scattered five hits over as many innings, with singles from Mike P (one in the first and one in the seventh); Leah Bennett (in the fifth);  and Tom (in the ninth).  The fifth Christ Church hit was an eighth inning home run by Vince Richards.  Immanuel got all the runs they needed in the second on doubles by Alan and Zach and a home run by Bob to lead by three.  In the sixth, Jared doubled, John tripled and Alan singled.  The Final - Immanuel 5 - Christ Church 1.

Christ Church scored first in Game Three.   After Jerry Hinton singled and died on base in the first, Mike Thompson homered to open the scoring in the fourth.  Immanuel responded with doubles from Jared and Alan to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.  But Christ Church had an answer in the top of the next inning, taking a 2-1 lead on a home run by Vince.  In the sixth, Christ Church batted around with a six hit five run inning- Jerry doubled; Mike T doubled (RBI); Tom singled and moved Mike T to third; Leah singled (RBI) scoring Mike T and advancing Tom to second; Andy moved each runner up a base with a sacrifice; David Stierle singled (RBI) scoring Tom and putting Leah on third; and Vince singled (RBI).  Mike P singled in the seventh but did not score.  In the eighth, Leah, Andy and David went single-triple (RBI-Andy)-single (RBI-David) to add two runs.  And in the ninth, Christ Church tacked on four on a single by Jerry; an RBI triple by Tom; and a two run home run by Andy.  David added a single in the ninth.  The Final - Christ Church 12 - Immanuel 1.
