SERIES WIN

Christ Church sent nine batters to the plate in coming from behind to win Game Three and take the series win Monday night at Immanuel.  Game Three entered the bottom of the eighth with the score tied at two a piece.  Brandy's second inning home run had staked Immanuel to 1-0 lead.  That run was matched by Christ Church in fifth on a home run by Andy Coates.  Immanuel broke the tie in the sixth on a home run by Alan.  But Vince Richards answered in the seventh with a home run.  Lead off singles by Tom Bennett (in the second) and Andy (in the third) and a double by Bob Stone (in the fifth after Vince's HR) all failed to result in a run and the game went to the bottom of the eighth tied.  In the eighth, Jared led off with a double and scored on a HR by John.  The next batter, Alan, homered for the second time in the game and Zach added a home run with two outs and gave Immanuel a seemingly commanding four run lead.  In the ninth, with one out, Dick Lutz and Mike Thompson singled.  A second out had Christ Church's backs to the wall.  Andy kept in going with a single but the deficit was still four.  Bob singled (RBI) and the lead was three with the tying run on first.  Leah Bennett was asked to go for a triple and she delivered (3 RBI) to tie the game.  Mike Peak singled  (RBI) for the lead with all five runs scoring after two outs!  In the ninth, Immanuel went three up and three down.  The Final - Christ Church 7 - Immanuel 6.

 All this came after the teams split the first two games.  Christ Church failed to score in Game One on five hits.  David Stierle tripled with two outs in the third; Mike P singled to lead off the seventh.; Dick Lutz singled with two outs in the eighth.  In the ninth, after an out, Mike P and Bob singled to bring the tying run to the plate but the needed triple eluded Christ Church.  All three of Immanuel's runs came in the fourth: David singled; John and Alan tripled; and Brandy doubled.  The Final - Immanuel 3- Christ Church 0.

Christ Church sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning of Game Two and took an early 5-0 lead.  Leah, Mike P (RBI), David (RBI), Tom (RBI), and Dick (RBI) went single, triple, single, triple, single before an out was made.  With one out Mike T tripled (RBI) for a six hit, five run first inning.  Immanuel demonstrated why they remain in first place by battling back.  In the bottom of the first two singles (Buzz and David) and a triple (Alan) made the score 5-3.  Brandy homered in the second to cut the led to two.  Tom singled and Dick tripled (RBI) to build the lead to three once again.  A two out triple by John and single by Alan in the third and a HR by Jim moved Immanuel to within a run.  Tom  was stranded after a single in the fifth.  A single by Mike P and a triple (RBI) by David added an insurance run.  The Final - Christ Church 7 - Immanuel 5.
