THREE COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORIES

Christ Church came from behind in all three games in sweeping visiting Trinity Presbyterian Church Monday night.

Trinity took a two run lead in Game One scoring a run in the second (doubles by Tom and Don) and one in the third (a single by Mary and a triple by David).  For Christ Church, David Stierle sigled in the second; Tom Bennett singled in the fifth; and Mike Peak singled in the seventh.  In the eighth Mark Nethary cut the lead in half with a lead off solo home run.  An out later Frank Preston homered to tie the game  and send it tied into the bottom of the ninth.  Mike P started the ninth with a tripole but Christ Church was unable to come up with the single need to drive him in.  The tenth was scoreless.  In the eleventh, Jerry Hinton led off with a triple and one out later Mike P delivered a single (RBI) and the victory.  The Final - Christ Church 3 - Trinity 2.

Trinity scored in the first inning in Game two.  David homered for a 1-0 advantage.  Mike P tripled with two outs in the first but died there.  In the second, however, Bob Stone led off with a single and Andy Coates followed with a triple (RBI) to tie the score.  Two outs later Frank tripled (RBI) and Jerry singled (RBI) to give Christ Church a 3-1 lead.  Cathy homered for trinity in the fifth to cut the lead to one.  Bob's sixth inning HR got that run back.  In the seventh Christ Church added an insurance run on a triple by Jerry and an RBI single by Leah Bennett, and closed out the scoring in the eighth on a home run by Andy.  The Final - Christ Church 6 - Trinity 2.

Christ Church scored first in Game Three.  Mike P singled with two outs and scored on a triple (RBI) Mike Thompson.  Trinity tied the game with a home run by Tom in the second.  A home run by Dick Lutz tied the game in the third.  Home runs in the fourth by David and Tom put Trinity ahead 3-2.  Doubles by Mike T and Bob (RBI) tied the game in the bottom of the inning and Christ Church scored in the next three innings (to make five scoring innings in a row) to secure the win.  In the fifth, Dick tripled and Mike P (RBI) singled; in the sixth, Andy and Bob (RBI) doubled and David (RBI) tripled; in the seventh, Mike P singled, Mike T (RBI) tripled and Andy (RBI) singled; and in the eighth, David singled, Dick (RBI) tripled and Andy (RBI) singled.  The Final - Christ Church 10 - Trinity 3.
