SERIES WIN STREAK AT NINE

Christ Church out-hit host Immanuel 13-8 and 14-9 in winning games one and two before Immanuel turned the tables to out hit Christ Church 14-8 in taking game three.

Game One had a slow start as Immanuel took a 1-0 lead into the fourth inning after a pair of doubles by Alan and Bob in the second inning.  Christ Church's first hit was a third inning single by Bob Stone.  In the fourth, Dick Lutz singled with one out and was still on first with two outs.  David Stierle then tripled (RBI) to tie the game and Christ Church took the lead on a single (RBI) by Vince Richards.  Bob Stone followed with a triple (RBI) and a 3-1 lead after three and a half innings.  After a scoreless fifth, a two out triple by David and an RBI single by Vince increased the lead to three.  A run by Immanuel in the eighth on a single by Buzz and a triple by John, gave Christ Church a two run lead going into the ninth.  In the top of the ninth, Christ Church put the game away with three straight home runs by David, Vince and Bob; a single by Nick Peak, a triple (RBI) by Jerry Hinton and a single (RBI) by Mike Peak as Christ Church sent nine batters to the plate and scored five.  The Final - Christ Church 9 - Immanuel 2.

Christ Church put up four in the first inning of Game Two which turned into a hard fought affair.  Mike P started the inning with a single; Dick tripled (RBI); David singled (RBI); Vince tripled (RBI); and Bob doubled (RBI).  In the second,  Jerry tripled but was stranded.  Christ Church made it 5-0 in the third on a pair of doubles by David and Bob (RBI).  Immanuel made it a one run game with four in the fourth.  David singled, Jared doubled and both scored on a double by Alan.  Brandy homered to score two more.  Christ Church answered in the fifth on a single by Dick and a triple (RBI) by David.  Nick singled in the sixth and David tripled in the seventh but neither scored.  Christ Church added an insurance run in the ninth on a single and triple by Mike P and Dick (RBI).  A double by Adam and a triple by Zack brought tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth before the third out gave Christ Church the win.   The Final - Christ Church 7 - Immanuel 5.

Immanuel never trailed in Game Three after putting three runs on the board in the second (a triple by John; a double by Brandy; and a home run by Bob), although Christ Church did manage to tie the game in the fifth.  In the third, Mike Thompson homered with two outs.  Jerry followed with a triple and scored when Mike P singled (RBI) [4-2].  Immanuel added a run in the fourth on doubles by Jim and Bob [4-1].  Maddie King led off the fifth with a home run.  Mike T and Jerry (RBI) doubled to tie the game at four.  But in the bottom of the inning, Immanuel broke the game open on a double by Larry, singles by Buzz and David and a double by Jared before there were any outs.  Alan's two out double produced the fourth run.  Christ Church fought back in the seventh on a double by Maddie and a home run (2 RBI) by Mike T.  In the Immanuel half of the eighth, Jim reached on an error and came in on Bob's homer.  The Final - Immanuel 10 - Christ Church 6.
