SERIES WIN STREAK REACHES EIGHT

In spite of visiting Trinity Presbyterian hitting nine home runs in game two, Christ Church won their eighth straight series Monday night.

In Game One the danger of a two run lead was demonstrated.  Christ Church posted six hits and two runs over the first eight innings.  Jerry Hinton singled in the first and Bob Stone singled in the sixth.  David Stierle added a triple in the eighth.  In the seventh, Christ Church took a two run lead on a single - triple - single by Dick Lutz, Vince Richards (RBI) and Mike Thompson (RBI) which lasted into the ninth.  In the top of the ninth a double by Dave and a home run from Steve tied the game.  In the bottom of the inning, Vince led off with a double and was followed by Andy Coates game winning homer (2 RBI).  The Final - Christ Church 4 - Trinity 2.

Christ Church could manage only seven hits and one run in Game Two.  A double by Mark Nethary and a single by Frank Preston put runners on first and third.  Jerry singled (RBI) to score one but Christ Church left two on.  Vince doubled to lead off the fourth; Mark doubled to lead off the fifth; David singled to lead off the sixth; and Dick singled to lead off the ninth, but Christ Church was unable to score any of those runners.  Trinity got a two out home runs from David in the third and fifth.  In the fifth Larry and Mary followed with home runs of their own.  David added his third home run of the game with two outs in the seventh.  In the ninth, Trinity tallied four straight home runs with one out- Bob, David (his fourth straight), Larry and Mary.  The Final - Trinity 9 - Christ Church 1.

 Trinity failed to score on two hits in Game Three.  Jerry and Dick opened the scoring in the first with a single and triple (RBI).  In the fourth, David led off with a double and scored on Vince's double (RBI).  An out later, Mike T also doubled (RBI) and Bob tripled to close the scoring.  David added a non-run scoring triple in the fifth.  The Final - Christ Church 4 - Trinity 0.
