Christ Church never trailed in Game One as Jerry Hinton and Leah Bennett had a single and a triple leading off the game for a 1-0 lead which was stretched to 4-0 in the second. After two were out Charles Smith homered. He was followed by back to back doubles by Dick Lutz and Jerry. The scoring was completed in the third on another triple by Leah. Portland struck for three in the bottom of the inning on a double by Dave and home runs by Mike and Barb. Tom Bennett got one run back with a third inning home run. Christ Church closed out the scoring with a pair of runs in the sixth as Andy Coates, Tom, and Bob Stone went single-triple-single. Mike Peak added a single in the seventh and Jerry had one in the ninth. The Final - Chrsit Church 7 - Portland 3.
In Game Two, Larry's third inning home run and Dave's double and Mike's home run in the fourth gave Portland a 3-0 lead. After failing to cash in a two out triple by Mike P. in the first and a lead off double by Bob in the third, in the fifth, Tom homered and then Charles reached on an error and Jerry drove him home with a triple. But that was all the scoring Christ Church could manage. Lead off singles by Tom (seventh inning) and David Stierle (ninth) could not provide a run, Mike W. added a seventh inning home run. The Final - Portland 4 - Christ Church 2.
Christ Church scored in the second, third and fourth innings of Game Three to take a 4 run lead. David singled and Tom tripled in the second. Leah tripled and Mike P. singled in the third. In the fourth, Andy, Bob and Dick strung a single-triple-single together for a pair of runs and a 4-0 lead. Christ Church failed to plate Mike P. from first in the fifth, Bob in the sixth, David in the eighth and Charles in the ninth. After going hitless over the first three innings, Portland scored one in the third (Diana doubled and Ron tripled) in the third. In the seventh Dave homered and was matched by Mike W. in the eighth. In the ninth trailing 4-3, Diana singled and Ron tied the game with a triple. Dave's single gave Portland the win. The Final - Portland 5 - Christ Church 4.
